As of October 1, 2018, 7,162 families or 11,617 ethnic Kazakhs arrived in the republic and received oralman status.

The majority of oralmans - 47.9% came from the Republic of Uzbekistan, 40.4% came from the PRC, 3.8% came from Mongolia, 2.9% came from Turkmenistan, 1.3% came from the Russian Federation and 3.7% - from other countries.

The largest number of oralmans settled in Almaty - 32%, Turkestan - 18.1%, Mangistau - 10.9% of region and Astana - 9.4%.

In the third quarter of 2017, 2,226 families or 4,297 ethnic Kazakhs arrived in the republic and received the status of oralman. The majority of oralmans - 44.7% of the profits from the Republic of Uzbekistan, 44.5% are from China, 3.8% from Mongolia, 2.7% from Turkmenistan, 1.8% from Russia and 2.7% from other countries (number of people).

For the 2nd quarter of 2017 to the Republic arrived and received the status of repatriates 410 2 families or 4 455 ethnic Kazakh.

The majority of repatriates was 47.1% came from Uzbekistan, 40.3 per cent are immigrants from China, 3,8% – from Turkmenistan, 2,4% – from Mongolia, to 2.4% from Russia and 4% from other countries (number of people).

In the 1st quarter of 2017 to the Republic arrived and received the status of repatriates 601 2 families or 4 860 ethnic Kazakh.

Most of oralmans 54.5 % of the profits from the Republic of Uzbekistan, 33.4 % are immigrants from China, 4.6 % – from Turkmenistan, 2.1 % – from Mongolia, 2 % from Russia and 3.4 % from other countries (number of people).

The greatest number of repatriates settled in Almaty – 35,6 %, South Kazakhstan – 22,9 %, Mangistau – 14,9% and Zhambyl – 6.1% of the areas.

In order to protect the domestic labor market the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan annually establishes a quota for the Republic of foreign experts.

The quota for foreign labor force in 2017 was approved on types of economic activities in the amount of 0.6 % of the labor force, accounting for 54.1 per thousand units.

As of 1 April 2017 on permission of local Executive bodies on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan worked 28 842 foreign nationals, including the following categories:

In an effort of protection of inner labour-market the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan determines the qouta for attraction to the republic foreing experts every year.

The quota for attraction of  FLF for 2016 was approved in the amount of 0.7% of the economically active population of the republic, that is 63 thousand units.

    For the independence period since 1991 the Republic of Kazakhstan has granted citizenship to 260 325 families or 955 894 oralmans. Currently their segment in society constitutes 5,5 per cent.

    From among ethnic Kazakhs arrived to Kazakhstan 61,6 % are from Uzbekistan, 14,2 % are from China, 9,2 % are from Mongolia, 6,8 % are from Turkmenistan, 4,6% have arrived from the Russian Federation and 3,7 % are from other far-abroad countries.

Information about ethnic migration

Since 1991 through 1 quarter of 2015 there were 259 539 thousand families or  953 908 ethnic Kazakh people who came back to their historical motherland and received the status of oralman. They constitute 5,5% of total number of population.

Most part of oralmans – 61,5% came from Uzbekistan, 14,3% of them are from China, 9,3% - from Mongolia, 6,8% - from Turkmenistan, 4,6% - from Russia and 3,5% are from other countries.
