As of September 1 this year, 757 accidents occurred at the enterprises of the republic, as a result of which 848 people were injured, that is 13% lower than at the same period last year (for 8 months of 2018 – 975 people), of which 95 people were fatal, that is 28% lower than at the same period last year (2018 – 133 people).
At the same time, the growth of injuries in comparison with the same period last year is noted in Zhambyl, Aktobe, Akmola, Almaty regions, as well as in Almaty. The number of deaths has increased in Pavlodar region.
For the first half of 2019 in terms of industries the greatest number of victims is noted at the enterprises of mining-metallurgical complex – 96 or 15% and the construction industry – 65 employees, or 10%.
It should be noted that at some enterprises there were two and more accidents ("ArcelorMittal Temirtau" JSC – 20, "Corporation Kazakhmys" LLP – 11 (Karaganda region), "Kazzinc" LLP – 15, "Vostoktsvetmet" LLP – 6 (East Kazakhstan region), "Ekibastuz SDPP-1" LLP – 3, "Aluminum of Kazakhstan" JSC – 2 (Pavlodar region), "SSMPA" JSC - 4, "Bayan Sulu" JSC - 2 (Kostanay region). "The main causes of the accidents were: unsatisfactory organization of work production, shortcomings in teaching safe methods of labor, violation of safety and labor protection rules. So, on May 23, 2019 during the works on dismantling the equipment of sewage lifting stations 4 workers of "Astana Su Arnasy" SME died, receiving a poisoning with methane. And on June 12 in the district center of Zaisan of the East Kazakhstan region during cleaning works in the sewer well at a depth of two meters there was an accident with three employees of "Zaisan" MMSE (methane poisoning), one of them died, and two were hospitalized in regional hospital. The heads of these enterprises were heard at the meetings of the regional tripartite commissions, and they developed individual action plans to prevent injuries", - the chief state labor inspector of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tolegen Ospankulov said.
According to him, the issues of reducing the number of jobs with harmful working conditions remain relevant in Kazakhstan.
"According to the authorized body for statistics, 373 thousand people or every fourth person (22.3%) were employed in harmful and dangerous working conditions among 1.6 million employees from enterprises surveyed on working conditions in 2018. Based on the results of the certification in 2018, 676 thousand workers received various compensations for working in harmful working conditions. For these purposes, employers have allocated 116.3 billion tenge, that is 8 % more than in 2017, " Ospankulov informed.
According to the results of 2018, technical inspectors conducted 70 735 inspections on working conditions, during which 126 737 comments were identified and eliminated. 14 792 production councils have been set up and operate at the enterprises of the republic.
In general, comprehensive measures taken by state bodies and employers in the field of labor protection have allowed to maintain a positive trend to reduce industrial injuries.
