On Wednesday, July 3, Minister of labor and social protection of the population of RK Berdibek Saparbayev met with Chevron President for exploration and production in Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East Todd levy.
During the meeting the sides discussed issues of security and favorable conditions of work on the project of the Tengiz field.
The Minister noted the significant contribution of Chevron to the economic development of the country and the implementation of major social projects.
"The situation at the Tengiz field is under special control. The most important issue is compliance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, non-discrimination, differences in wages, working conditions of Kazakh and foreign specialists, any manifestations of labor conflicts," B. Saparbayev said.
Also, the head of the Ministry of labor noted the need to reduce the share of unskilled foreign labor in contractors involved in the implementation of the TCO project.
In turn, Todd levy assured that the contracting companies will be raised the issues of increasing the number of Kazakh specialists in management. It will also strengthen educational work to ensure favorable relationships in the labor collectives.
"One of the proposals is to organize a Committee of employees, so that on a regular basis the managing director of our company went to the field and met with representatives of labor collectives. Thus, we want to raise the level of trust on the part of workers," he stressed.
