EY together with the world Bank held the second round table within the project "Development of labor skills and promote jobs,"

On 31 October at the EY office in Astana was held the second round table, devoted to the review of the regulatory framework in the field of short-term training, retraining of personnel and upgrading of qualifications in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was held in the framework of the project "Development of skills and the stimulation of jobs" implemented by the Ministry of labor and social protection of population of the Republic of Kazakhstan with technical and financial support from the world Bank.
The discussion was attended by representatives of the project management unit of world Bank, experts from EY, the representatives of the Ministry of labor and social protection of population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National chamber of entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan "Atameken", Ministry of education and science of Kazakhstan, JSC "NC "KTZ" – "Center of evaluation and staff development of railway transport," College of the Eurasian humanitarian Institute and the NAO "holding "Kasipkor".
The aim of the project "Development of labor skills and promote jobs" (implemented from 2016 to 2020) is to increase the skills of the unemployed, self-employed and employed workers who need training. This project is part of a complex cooperation of the world Bank with the Kazakh Government aimed at supporting economic diversification and balanced economic growth was impossible without qualified human capital. The objectives of the project largely coincide with the areas and objectives of the programs, including Program development and productive employment and mass business for the years 2017-2021.
During the round table experts EY presented to the participants of the preliminary recommendations for improving the current regulatory framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of short-term vocational training, taking into account international experience of some countries of the CIS, OECD, North America and Southeast Asia.
The roundtable participants exchanged views and practical experience with respect to the labor market of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"Since the sphere of activities on preparation, retraining, improvement of professional skills are little regulated in the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is necessary to improve legislation in this sphere", – noted participants of the round table.
The event became a platform for lighting a number of pressing issues that need to be addressed in order to improve the quality of educational services in the field of vocational training, retraining of personnel and upgrading of qualifications and, thus, ensure the balanced functioning of the labor market in the country and growth of economy.
