Article 68 of the Labor code of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 23 November 2015 (further – the Code) provides that normal working hours should not exceed 40 hours per week.The employment contract may provide for fewer working hours with pay as per normal working hours.

Code also provide for the establishment of reduced working time for certain categories of workers:

for employees at the age from fourteen till sixteen years – not more than 24 hours a week (article 69 of the Code);

for workers aged sixteen to eighteen years – no more than 36 hours per week (article 69 of the Code);

for workers employed in heavy works, works with harmful (particularly harmful) and (or) hazardous working conditions - no more than 36 hours per week (article 69 of the Code);

for workers with disabilities first and second groups – no more than 36 hours per week (article 69 of the Code).

In labor, collective agreements may provide for working time less than that specified in article 69 of the Code.

In accordance with article 79 of the Code the organization shall be the account of working hours actually worked by the employee.

A five-day working week duration of daily work (shift) cannot exceed 8 hours with weekly norm of 40 hours, 7 hours and 12 minutes at the weekly norm of 36 hours; a six-day working week duration of daily work (shift) cannot exceed: for workers with a normal weekly working time is 40 hours - 7 hours; for weekly norm of 36 hours - 6 hours, etc.

In this regard, the duration of working time is:

When the 40-hour work week:

a five-day working week – five working days for 8 hours;

a six-day working week – five working days on 7 hours and one working day of 5 hours.

When the 36-hour work week:

a five-day working week - five working days for 7 hours 12 minutes (7,20 hours);

a six-day working week – six working days to 6 hours.

In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan of December 13, 2001 No. 267 "On holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan" (hereinafter-the Law) the day that marked the national and state holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan, recognized holidays in accordance with labor legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Public holidays in Kazakhstan are non-working days.

When the coincidence output and public holidays day off is the next working day after holiday.

Holidays are celebrated in the Republic of Kazakhstan:

National holiday:

Independence day - 16 – 17 December;

Independence day - 16 – 17 December;:

New year - 1-2 January;

International women's day – 8 March;

Nauryz – March 21-23;

Feast of unity of peoples of Kazakhstan – 1 may;

The defender of the Fatherland day on may 7;

Victory day – may 9;

The Capital day – 6 July;

Constitution day of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 30 August;

The day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – December 1.

Therefore, in the preparation of the balance of work in 2017, subject to the provisions of the Law public holidays that coincide with weekends (Saturday, Sunday), transferred on following after celebratory the working day:

in the five days:

from January 1 to January 3;

from 7 may to 8 may;

from December 16 to December 18;

from 17 Dec to 19 Dec

at six days:

from January 1 to January 3;

from 7 may to 8 may;

from 17 Dec to 18 Dec

In accordance with article 84 of the Code during the five-day and six-day working week the common day off is Sunday.

The second day at five-day working week is set by the collective contract or the rules of labor regulations.

The first day of Kurban-AIT, celebrated according to the Muslim calendar, the 7th of January - Orthodox Christmas are public holidays.

In 2017, the first day of Kurban-AIT falls on September 1.

In the factory calendar shows the standard working time for months, quarters and 2017 in General in working days (hours). It is designed on the calendar five-day and six-day working week, based on eight-, seven - and six-hour workday in a 40-hour and 36-hour working week.

In 2017, the standard working time is:

when the 40-hour work week:

five-day – 1960 hours (245 days × hours of 8.00);

six days – 1972 hours (246 days * 7,00 hours + 50 days * of 5.00 hours);

when the  36-hour work week:five days – 1764 hours (245 days × 7,20 hours);six days – 1776 hours (296 days * of 6.00 hours).Average number of working days for 2017 is:a five-day working week – 20,42 days;at six-day working week – 24.67 days.

The average number of calendar days for 2017 is 29,25 (excluding holidays established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
